"A year I never thought to live": Perspectives on the organization of pedagogical work with babies and children under three in a pandemic context

This research proposes a study on work with early childhood, according to Historical-cultural Psychology, through an analysis of pedagogical practices developed in the municipal network of Uberlândia during 2020, in a period of pandemic caused by the new Coronavirus (Covid-19). The research includes a contextualization of the timeline of the main public policies for Early Childhood Education in Brazil, followed by a bibliographic survey of research carried out in the period 2015-2020 related to working with babies. We also contemplate some of the theoretical assumptions of Historical-cultural Psychology with a focus on the education of children up to three years old. The research is qualitative and, as a data collection instrument, it was used a directed questionnaire, applied to five teachers from the Municipal Education Network of Uberlândia. In general terms, it was identified that the teachers made an effort to reconfigure their work from the new context and proposed to maintain an affective bond with the children, despite the physical distance, as they understand the importance of affectivity for pedagogical work and for global development. Their pedagogical plans were based, in part, on flexibility, in aspects that meet the physical, emotional and social needs of children through attentive listening and a sensitive look at the realities experienced by the school community.Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)A presente pesquisa propõe um estudo sobre o trabalho com a primeira infância, segundo a Psicologia Histórico-cultural, por meio de uma análise de práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas, durante o ano de 2020, na rede municipal de Uberlândia-MG, em um período de pandemia, ocasionado pelo novo Coronavírus (Covid-19). A pesquisa contempla uma contextualização da linha temporal das principais políticas públicas para a Educação Infantil no Brasil, seguido de um levantamento bibliográfico de pesquisas desenvolvidas no período de 2015-2020 sobre o trabalho com bebês. Contemplamos também alguns dos pressupostos teóricos da Psicologia Histórico-cultural com foco na educação de crianças de até três anos. A pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa e, como instrumento de coleta de dados, utilizamos questionário dirigido, aplicado a cinco professoras da Educação Infantil da Rede Municipal de Ensino de Uberlândia. Em linhas gerais, identificamos que as docentes se esforçaram para reconfigurar seus trabalhos a partir do novo contexto e se propuseram a manter um vínculo afetivo com as crianças apesar da distância física por entenderem a importância da afetividade para o trabalho pedagógico e para o desenvolvimento global. Seus planejamentos pedagógicos foram pautados, em parte, na flexibilização, em aspectos que atendessem às necessidades físicas, emocionais e de socialização das crianças por meio de uma escuta atenta e de um olhar sensível para as realidades vivenciadas pela comunidade escolar
